(1) Check the EGR valve for sticking or carbon deposits.
If such conditions exist, clean or replace the EGR valve.
(2) Connect a hand vacuum pump to the nipple of the EGR valve and plug other nipple.
(3) If there is vacuum leakage, replace the EGR valve.
(4) Blow air in from one passage of the EGR to check its condition

Inspection After Installation
-After installing fuel tubes, make sure there is no fuel leakage at connections in the following steps.
- Apply fuel pressure to fuel lines with turning ignition switch ON (with engine stopped). Then check for fuel leaks at connections.
- Start the engine and rev it up and check for fuel leaks at connections. Perform procedures for “Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning” after finishing repairs.
- If electric throttle control actuator is replaced, perform procedures for “Idle Air Volume Learning” after finishing repairs
